Eric and Marjolein always dreamed of having a house full of children to love and adore. They were overjoyed when they learned they were expecting a baby girl in 2016. Tragically, they lost their daughter at 22 weeks of pregnancy. After suffering another loss, they were cautiously optimistic when they learned Marjolein was pregnant again. This pregnancy was also met with difficulty when Marjolein went into labour at just 28 weeks pregnant. She gave birth to their beautiful son Lux who spent almost 10 weeks in the hospital before finally coming home. Despite his difficult start in life, Lux is now a happy, healthy 5 year old.

Eric and Marjolein want nothing more than to give Lux a sibling but due to a uterine abnormality, the likelihood of another loss is exponentially higher.

Ryan and Shane are an optimistic, upbeat and adventurous couple. From surfing at sunrise to evenings renovating, they always find something to do. Guilhem and Nicolas are a travel-loving couple living in Paris, France. From practicing judo to yoga- there isn’t much these two don’t do! Nicolas loves to cook, and he especially loves leaning into his Vietnamese heritage through food. Guilhem loves sailing and has been sailing since he was 12. Together, they have visited 14 countries and look forward to having their child join them on their adventures. In 2016, John and Denise were faced with the unexpected news that Denise had cervical cancer. In an effort to preserve her fertility, John and Denise began the IVF procedure and created 3 embryos. In 2018, Denise did her first IVF transfer and became pregnant using one of the 3 embryos they had created. Following the birth of their daughter Hannah, through a routine exam, cancer cells were discovered in Denise’s uterus. The best course of action was to remove her uterus. Since the surgery, Denise has been in great health, but can no longer carry a pregnancy herself.

John and Denise still have 2 embryos remaining and long to see their daughter Hannah become a sister.

Manmeet is no stranger to overcoming obstacles though. At just 2 months old Manmeet contracted Polio leaving her paralyzed in her right leg, requiring her to use a wheelchair or crutches to get around. In addition to mobility challenges, Manmeet must remain on medication that is not pregnancy safe to stabilize her health. Their strong desire to start a family despite these challenges lead them to explore surrogacy.
