I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a mother and have a large family with lots of children. I always enjoyed helping my aunts and uncles with my younger cousins, babysitting for family and friends and had dreams of opening a daycare! I couldn’t fathom a future without children in it.

As I became an adult, my goals shifted, but my desire to raise a family was ever-present. My husband and I were overjoyed when I learned I was pregnant and happily welcomed our son into our world as a family of 3. As our son got older, we began planning for siblings! Unfortunately, this plan didn’t go quite as we expected. We were faced with the long, heart-wrenching journey of Secondary Infertility. Ultimately, this lead us to consider surrogacy. Someone close to us had offered the incredible gift of becoming our Surrogate. Again, things didn’t go quite as we had planned and our Surrogate became pregnant with her own child. While we were happy for her, we now had to once again grieve the loss of what we hoped could have been.

As someone who has experienced the pain and heartache of infertility, I am able to fully understand the journey some Intended Parents find themselves on and can relate every step of the way.
